Key Benefits

Ease of Use

The SRF116 and SRF216 can be built to order and delivered pre-configured to meet your storage requirements.  Further, the SRF116 and SRF216 are operating system-independent therefore no host software is required.  The SRF216 offers host-transparent and host-independent failover/failback.  Both the SRF116 and SRF216 are available with Distributed Array Management (DAM) software for easy to use management.

High Performance

The SRF116 and SRF216 RAID controller delivers sustained transfer rates over 97 MB/sec making the controllers excel in high-bandwidth environments such as video editing.  Built with a 233 MHz RISC processor, hardware XOR, and support for up to 256 MB of cache, the SRF116 and SRF216 are sure to meet your performance requirements.

Scalability

The SRF116 and SRF216 offer industry-leading scalability.  Adding an additional six 16-drive JBODs allows an SRF system to scale to 8 TB of storage in just 21U of rack space.

High Availability

The SRF116 and SRF216 support RAID levels 0, 1, 10, 3, 5, 30, 50, and JBOD.  Additional high-availability features include online capacity expansion, online array initialization, dedicated and pooled spares, battery-backed ECC-protected cache, and hot-swap support replacement of disk drives.  The SRF216 supports host-transparent failover/failback and the cache data is fully mirrored across both controllers to ensure data integrity.  The SRF116/SRF216 enclosure comes standard with a backend Loop Resiliency Circuit (LRC) allowing the user to configure the enclosure with a single loop of 16 drives (applicable when adding additional JBODs) or dual 16 drive loops, therefore ensuring there is a redundant path to the disk drives.  The enclosure also comes standard with redundant, auto-ranging 450 W power supplies.  Fault indicators are standard for power supplies, temperature, drives, fan modules, and controllers.  All Field Replaceable Units (FRUs), including power supplies, fan modules, drives and RAID controllers are hot-pluggable.  Lastly, the SRF116/SRF216 enclosure is the first in its class to provide a fully redundant cooling system capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 40º C.

Management

Distributed Array Management (DAM) software allows the user to easily monitor and configure the SRF116/SRF216.  Arrays can be configured and monitored using a simple graphical representation.  DAMwatch is a monitoring service, included in the DAM software that warns users of any errors with the RAID arrays, disk drives, and/or enclosure components.
